Circa Late 19th – Early 20th Century
Beautiful antique metal jardinière featuring an elegant oak leaf motif, symbolic of strength and longevity. This piece dates to the late Victorian / early Edwardian period and reflects Neoclassical and Aesthetic Movement design influences.
The planter is constructed of cast brass or bronze-finished metal with a rich, naturally aged patina. The detailing of the leaves is crisp and dimensional, with a reeded base and scrolling accents at the lower edges.
This jardinière originally had a black wooden bottom, which was removed due to damage. Even without the base, the piece still functions beautifully as a planter surround or decorative holder and can be paired with a liner or replacement base if desired.
